850 agency workers at the BMW Oxford Plant were sacked last week, a video of the sacking filmed on a mobile phone has emerged on the internet. It shows disgraceful actions from BMW giving employees an hours notice and a weeks pay. As well as threatening to deduct money if uniforms and cards were not handed back promptly. As you can imagine tempers were running high, at BMW as well as at inept union leaders acting as lap dogs to the BMW bosses instead of representing the workers.
While the Union leaders were trying to defend the bosses actions a worker gets up on stage, grabs the microphone and begins laying into the Union, calling them a corrupt organisation, demanding to know what they were doing, where their money was. Telling the leaders 'you work for us, you don't work for them!' The Union Leaders responded with pathetic excuses about their failings. They eventually left the stage when they couldn't take the heat anymore. The videos show how current Union leadership needs radical change. They would rather play nice and work with the bosses rules and terms then to fight for workers rights. Unions leaders should be demanding that workers do not pay for this current economic crisis. These companies have proven their incompetence yet their allowed to carry on running the show! Yet what do we hear from these Union leaders 'we asked them not to do it'!!!
